You said the Father loved you because you laid down your life. John 10 v17. But He also loved you long before that. Before you ever left heaven there was in your being a willingness or tendency toward laying down your life if some good could come from it and because there was sufficient need to do so.. The Father knew that.  And having left all the riches and glory of heaven with your Father for our good and for the sake of our need and going on to surrender your life once you were here living on earth, and finally going to the inevitable result of the cross. All that was consistent with your ❤ heart to leave heaven in the first place to come to our rescue. And your leaving heaven's glory was consistent too with the way you experienced that glory in eternity, how You held it loosely without clinging too tightly to it. One was the logical outworking of the other and flowed from it. Self-giving was always a part of your nature and the impulse and desire to give of yourself always was a part of yourself because that is the nature of love. Your Father knows that and lives it as You do. That is also your Father's nature who so loved our world that He gave us you with it. And if He would not withhold His only begotten Son., there is nothing God would withhold from us that is for our good and His glory. Amen.
