When our husbands are seeking a little love and affection,
We often hit them with that famous question,
“Why don’t you show interest in me until you want sex?”
Their ways of showing love really makes us feel like rejects
And that they only desire us for their sexual obsessions.
We find it offensive to be only considered when they are ready for sex sessions.
We tend to get so angry that we refuse their every request
And treat them as if they’re being intolerable pests.
It’s funny how we get offended when we feel like we’re being used
And feel that our bodies and emotions are being abused.
It’s funny how we feel we should receive so much more attention and adoration.
It’s so funny how we have such great expectations
From those who claim to love us beyond measure,
And who seem to only show that love when they desire sexual pleasure.
It’s funny how we claim to love God so much,
But we only call on Him when we need an answer, deliverance or a touch
To be saved from some furious attack.
It’s funny how we expect so much from others, and are willing to give so little back.
It’s funny how we always expect God to step in on time
When, until we really need Him, He hardly crosses our minds.
It’s funny how we feel we are so deserving of what is good
When we don’t acknowledge and praise God as we should.
As funny as it may appear or seem,
I’m sure God is not laughing by any means
Because He has warned that He is a jealous God
And for ignoring Him, we may feel the pain of His chastening rod.
