Perspective can be modified, altered, and transformed, but it happens from the inside-out process.
When we need a fresh perspective, how do we go about gaining one?
I have several things I do regularly, which helps me obtain a God-consciousness as a believer, and in this way, I receive His perspective, view, and style of 'seeing' life.
While spiritual disciplines are essential such as; prayer, reading scriptures, worshiping, they are not what give me life or the ability to sustain a way of being that transcends the natural.
As a believer in Jesus Christ, I have gone through many phases and understanding of how to live out my Faith. Faith is what I live in the unknown spaces in where I am and where God is moving me, and He is always moving me nearer to His love-heart.
The biblical definition of Faith is written in Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."
When I am walking the redemption road, I am learning to trust God in this unseen realm where He moves, breathes, and dwells.
In the Bible, "faith" has two parts to it, and both are equally important.
"Faith' means believing in God, and in what Christ has done for us to make our salvation possible–and then committing ourselves to Him.
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:4-6
Trust is an exercise in Faith that results from one's belief system. When one has encountered the reality of the Love-Christ in experiencing His Spirit, they begin to walk this new way of being in Jesus.
Trusting in Jesus in those times of uncertainty and in the unknown paths in this life is where I am inspired from within as the life of Jesus lifts me in His spirit of Hope. Faith in Christ means trusting Him to bring you and I successfully through all adversities, struggles and tragedies.
It includes going to your limit in doing all you can do while depending upon Him to do all you cannot do.
So Faith in Jesus the Christ is not about fanciful sentimentalism reserved for a religious mind that is out of touch with everyday realism. On the contrary, living this Faith in the ordinariness of my day is about commonsense cooperation with a spirit-being.
Jesus is not only genuinely interested in our eternal survival, but He is sincerely passionate about drawing you and me into an abiding and close personal relationship with His spirit-being each day.
Jesus said, "You believe in God, also believe in Me" (John 14:1).
Believing in Christ means accepting in His existence, crediting His gospel message as truth, and placing Faith in Him as Lord and Master.
Trust is not automatic, nor is it quickly developed. Developing a secured trust in Jesus happens over time as we learn to spend time with Him, communing, basking, and soaking in His presence.
We learn of Him and His character and the way of His love in direct relationship. We grow in our understanding that He is always with us, He is still faithful, and He is always empowering us to live from the fully supplied life of Jesus that is embedded into every nook, cranny, and fiber of our humanness.
In this way, we develop a deep trust just as we would with a physical friend. We begin as strangers, but to build and maintain any friendship, it requires regular connecting, open communication, honest discussions, and a willingness to go beyond our self-contained walls in becoming vulnerable.
This is the same way we develop a personal ongoing and continual abiding and dwelling in our relationship with Jesus. We take time to sit with Him alone, we go out of our way to stop our activity to commune in His presence.
We let him know our struggles, our joys, and our thoughts, and we learn how to relate to our Lord and friend. He patiently teaches and gently invites us in this inside-out journey in discovering the depth, height, width, and breadth of His love.
We let go, release and surrender our struggles, our wants, and what we prefer to His spirit-being who is love.
We recognize that real power is the transformative agent of Our Lord's love who changes our attitudes from the inside and inspires His life as our source towards an other-centered lifestyle of service, humility in absolute surrender to His spirit-being.
My perspective, the way I view and see God, life, and relationships shift from my natural tendencies and move into the realm of God-conscious views and perspective.
As I learn to grow in my understanding of living from the fully supplied life of Christ as my source, it is His life thinking and perceiving all I experience through the filter of his holy and divine love-being who is spirit and not human.
This transformation is astounding, stunning, and mysterious!
The union in the Triune Godhead of whom Jesus is an intricate member is a lifelong journey to be lived in close relationships and within a community, not isolated or as lone rangers.
We were created to fruitfully enjoy our union in a being whose spirit-life fosters, manifests and displays God's love in the ordinariness of each day.
