Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing (James 1:2-4).

The Christian life is not only your identity as a follower of Jesus but as a proof of your genuine faith. James, the author of this epistle, addresses the scattered Jewish Christians abroad not to give up but to endure these various trials and count it all joy.

Our faith in Christ required numerous ordeals to verify its authenticity. As long as we bear our mortal bodies, were not exempted from these crucible times. The trials James mentioned in chapter 1, the scope not only the persecutions during those days (church persecutions in Asia minor) on the other hand, it also includes the testing of your rank, desire, character, and doctrine of faith.

For example, if you said that you read the Word of God but never obey (not effectual doer), there is something wrong with your faith. In John 8:31, So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine. The blessings in your life will come (both spiritual and temporal), but it depends on your love and obedience to God's word; how you manifest the likeness of Jesus through your attitude and deeds (Psalm 1:1-3; Galatians 5:22). Such as the positive response to the adverse events in your daily life.

Satan and his dominion were always looking for a victim. He likes the child of God to be the bait, to tear down the unity of your home and your spiritual family. Satan's crafty tactics he will offer you a lot of choices to isolate your mind and desires for his purpose. The flesh is the main target of the enemy, which is the weakest part of the human being. He will entice you with these worldly pleasures until you succumb.

For example, pornography is a severe struggle for some because of our physical cravings. Marriages disbanded because of the immoral issues induced by the improper usage of social media. In today's modern world, technology has both the edge and downside for the lives of every Christians. It could be a debacle or a beneficial influence on our spiritual journey.

Therefore, as a true disciple of Jesus, we are a faithful witness of His light. Living by faith, every day is our daily weapon to face the darkest and crooked worldly principles. Brothers and sisters in Christ, count it all joy! God has the reason, and He is sovereign, why He is allowing trials to come in our lifetime. Trials, it will refine our faith, intensify our joy, and make us true followers of Jesus Christ.
