  This month’s commentary is going to leave more than a few people a little upset.  However, my objective is--perhaps--to have more than a few people get the issue of biblical repentance straight in their minds, and stop treating Christians and the church as some kind of ‘clean up’ crew.  God does NOT like to see His people conned, suckered, abused and tormented by anyone.  He will take it up with the offender(s) in ways beyond the imagination.

    God can strike with a famine, wars, rumors of wars, and a pestilence that no amount of scientific knowledge may cure.  Woe be unto the man, woman, politician or nation on the receiving end of God’s wrath.  Yes, God IS longsuffering.  However, there comes a time when His limits have been imposed upon, and His line has been crossed.

    For example, take China.  This Communist nation was living the high life; pretending to ‘be’ a capitalist society, but was a hard-core dictatorship to its being.  For a number of years, the Chinese government had been locking up Christians, killing pastors, bulldozing churches, and cracking down on the Word of God.  Interestingly, a few weeks before the ‘start’ of the Wuhan Virus, the Chinese Communists announced that they were going to ‘re-write’ the Word of God in a form to ‘exalt’ the Communist way of life, with the current president of that country to held up and worshipped as Jesus Christ.

    They expected ALL Christians to accept this abomination of the Bible.  In the vernacular of those who understand prison culture, someone clearly crossed the deadline with God.  God met them with lethal force, in the form of the Wuhan Virus.

    Earliest published reports from Wuhan via the worldwide press indicated that the disease; the pestilence started to make its initial appearance in that area of the world just before Christmas, 2019.  It wasn’t long before this pestilence made its way around the globe in 2020,

    The Wuhan Virus exposed a variety of major flaws in our world; the belief that one--or more than one--can engage in risky behavior, and not pay a price…sometimes with their very lives, or the lives of their family members.  Further, one may be rescued from their own bad behavior, and, instead of repenting--and being grateful for the rescue (and the rescuer)--they are emboldened in their rebellion and sin, and keep shaking their fists in God’s face.

    Over the course of a few weeks, the world has been turned upside down thanks to this pestilence known as the Wuhan Virus.  Gone are the feminists in power suits; the #MeToo, Occupy Wall Street, Antifa, and BLM clones.  Experts from all walks of medical life are being left babbling by the side of the road.  Meanwhile, the hard-working people of society:  housewives, truckers, cashiers, nurses, cops, etc., have been held to be heroes once again.

    Also vanished are the social justice warriors; the entertainment kabal, professional (and college) sports, the public school/teacher mafia plus the twin idol terrors of selfies and material worship.  Mega churches have been shut down, and religious circuses have been sidetracked.  The business sector has been put out of business, and many are getting pink slips.  People are back to discovering the difference between things that are ‘necessities’ and things that are ‘luxuries’.

    The political power structure has also fallen upon hard times.  Masks have slipped among a variety of high-ranking American elected officials, showing them for who they really are:  lusting for power and hateful of God and his church--while at the same time visiting churches election after election and ‘bus loading’ congregants to the polls for early voting.  It matters not their political party.  It only matters (to them) that they maintain political power…even if it costs the electorate their very lives.

    How important is it to God that a person who is helped by His hand--and His people--give Him the praise through repentance?  In Matthew 11:20-24 (KJV), Jesus Himself lists a variety of cities where he openly displayed His miracles to testify of God.  Instead of the people of these cities ‘getting His message’ and turning from their wicked ways, they decided to accept the blessings, and truck right on in their sins, hardening their attitudes.

    In short, they were not only ungrateful…they were woefully unrepentant.

    Jesus noted to these ungrateful cities that IF other notorious cities in history had received such miracles from the Lord, they would have repented, and not been subjected to God’s wrath.

    The bottom line?  God expects to be thanked with a softened heart and unclenched fist by those receiving his blessings through his people--who, by the way, are his hands and feet.  It is tragic to watch folks and nations demand help, receive help, and expect Christians and our Lord to remain ignorant of the hardness of their hearts and ideologies.  Such deliberate, and willful arrogance will not only cause His judgment to be lengthened, there may not be many left standing after his wrath has run its course.
