GRACE COVERS IT ALL

INTRODUCTION

Ever experienced a near fatal accident, where God showed up on the scene? Such was my case on October 11, 2004, at about noon time, on an isolated, rainy highway near Selma, Tennessee. My life was forever changed and the rest of this true story is history.  I trust you will enjoy my sharing a little of God’s wondrous love within the truth of this blog.

"And He hath said unto me, 'My grace is sufficient for thee: for My power is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." (II Corinthians 12:9)

Life is fragile at best, in this hectic, sinful world in which we live. (Ephesians 6:12) Several years ago, I was traveling in a remote part of the country, on my way to visit a client, when my life was forever radically changed, in a blinking of an eye, due to a near fatal vehicle accident.

According to police report, I sustained serious injuries when my vehicle was struck on the driver’s side (T-Boned) by a crossing vehicle. The other driver was charged with having no insurance, no seatbelt and failure to yield.

I don’t remember much about the accident, including how it happened, as I lost complete consciousness for a period of time. Looking back, I often wonder if God’s angel didn’t block the actual wreck from my memory. However, when I gained my composure, I remembered seeing and hearing the medical personal as they cut the twisted vehicle metal from around me in an attempt to pull me from the wreckage. It was at that point, lying helpless underneath the blood-soaked air bag, that I started crying out to God, over and over, to please bring me back to my wife. We serve an awesome God, for he answered my prayer that near fatal, dreadful day. (Romans 8:26-27)

After a two-month hospital stay, needed to mend my crushed body, and several weeks of therapy, I was able to return to restricted work duty. Praise God, I am now living a normal retired life and enjoying every minute of God's Grace.(Philemon 1:25) 

Since that devastating event, I have had many hours to reflect back. Why did God allow this to happen? Why did God miraculously see me through the whole ordeal? (I Peter 5:10)

For you see, on the day of the accident I was delayed leaving home as I had to repair a broken stair banister which took about an hour of my time. In doing so, this placed me in direct path of the oncoming vehicle.  So, what would have happened if I had been well on my way that day, previous to the accident? This is just one of those GOK (God only knows) questions. It's just no telling what I might have run into one hour earlier on that road. l may just have to wait till I get to Heaven to find out. (Psalm 25:14)

Well, it’s a good thing we can’t see into the future, or we would probably never make it through the day. God’s word instructs us to let our petitions be known to God, by prayer and supplication. (Philippians 4:5).

I really was not in any shape to quote Scripture that miraculous day, but as a child of God, I made my plea known. And praise God, He answered my plea. 

"You can do more than pray after you have prayed; but you can never do more than pray until you have prayed." A.J. Gordon

       GOD'S GRACE COVERS IT ALL

God's grace covers it all when He saves us
God's grace covers it all when He keeps us
God's grace covers it all when He satisfies us
God's grace covers it all when He convicts us
God's grace covers it all when He sets us free

God's grace covers it all when we sing of Him
God’s grace covers it all when we praise Him
God’s grace covers it all when we pray to Him
God’s grace covers it all when we read of Him 
God's grace covers it all when we witness of Him

God’s grace covers it all when our soul is sad
God’s grave covers it all when our soul is glad
God’s grave covers it all when our soul cries
God’s grave covers it all when our soul hurts
God’s grace covers it all when our soul heals

God's grace will cover it all when He takes us home
God’s grave will cover it all when we attend His feast
God’s grace will cover it all when we receive our reward
God’s grace will cover it all when we reunite with all
God's grace will cover it all when He brings us back

CONCLUSION

So why this particular blog relating this type event of the past at this particular time? We all probably at some place and time in our lives have needed a touch of divine guidance and protection.

No matter the issue, our Creator God is always in control and He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. (Hebrews 13:8) So, this Coronavirus pandemic is no surprise. 

Because of trauma, we tend to rehash many occurrences within our finite minds, be they good or bad. These tend to creep in through memories, in the form of a dream or nightmare, causing a recurrence of doubt and fear in our minds. We should guard against such thoughts. (II Timothy 1:7) We serve a wonderful all-powerful, all-knowing heavenly Father. Nothing takes Him by surprise. (Psalm 139:16) Let's all simply pray throught it all. (I Chronicles 16:11)  Amen! 

God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.

Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sov’reign will.

Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
