After you have had to cry,
You may sit and wonder why
Life seems to treat you so bad,
And the ones closest to you make you so sad.

After you have had to cry,
You may let out a depressing sigh
Because someone you love has done you wrong,
And those who promised to be there have left you alone.

After you have had to cry,
You may feel like you just want to die
Because your life is broken and torn apart,
And the pain goes to the depths of your heart.

After you have had to cry,
You may wish for wings that you may fly
From this world so full of pain and strife
To a place of eternal rest and everlasting life.

After you have had to cry,
You sometimes don’t want to continue to try
Because the pain you feel seems so hard to bear,
And there seems to be no one to really care.

Understanding seems to come in a very strange way
After tears of hurt, sorrow, and disappointment seem to flood your day,
And you soon find answers to your question of “Why”,
But joy doesn’t really come until you have had to cry.
