God's Kisses
A Mothers Love can truly be a picture of God's love!!
Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benifits, even the God of our salvation.
I just seen the most precious thing I have seen for quite some time. As I was dropping off my children for school I had to run in to the office for something. I was coming out I seen a little boy actually 'stuck' in the middle of the door. He was holding his hand up in a fist as he tried to wiggle his body and big book bag through the door. I ran to the door to help him. My first thought was that he had some type of handicap and could not use his hand. As he went in and peered up underneath his bright yellow rain coat and said thank you and ran off to his classroom. His mother was watching in her car and hollered to me "Thank you... I kiss his hand every morning and he does everything he can not keep the kiss in his hand."
What a precious thing. This little boy so highly regarded his mothers kiss, he would do everything in his power not to let any thing cause him to release it from his hand or touch it!!!
Maybe I am just overly dramatic, but this really was a blessing. I think of a bible study I was in once where it was explained that everyday God gives us gentle kisses all day long and at times we know they are from Him and others we miss them. It may be an answered prayer, an encouraging word from someone just at the right time, a piece of mail that contains the money we were in need of at that moment, a light turning green just in time for us to go through so we are not late for that appointment, my favorite an encouraging e-mail as I sit in the midst of my day. I could go on, but I think you get the picture! But to hold on to those kisses as this little boy did!!! I know that in reality, sooner or later in the morning he has to let go of that hand. But the kiss will still be there. He will be reminded of his mothers kiss when he opens his lunch that his mother lovingly prepared for him. He will be reminded of it when he gets out the homework his mother spent the time helping him with. He will be reminded of it when the school day is over and she is there to greet him at the door with some kind and caring words about how his day went. These too are the kisses he can hang onto that will remind him of the 'benifits' of having a loving mother.
How often does God give us these kisses and we remember HIM? It says "He daily loadeth us with benifits". We are not unthankful people on purpose. Our lives are so busy at times we just forget to say thank you. We miss the little blessings because the rush the world is in. Other times we imediatley turn our eyes upward and say thank you, just as this precious
At this time of thanksgiving, lets remember and hold on to these kisses the Lord fills our day with!
