There are references in the New Testament to Old Testament scripture. The most often referred to Old Testament scripture in the New Testament is Psalm 22, followed by Psalm 69, which in verse 9 contains the reference to today’s verse. The Psalms and Proverbs were two of the most learned parts of Old Testament scriptures in the lives of Jewish males.
Truly Jesus was consumed with zeal for the house of His Father. How and what do we feel about the house of God? Do we enter with true reverence? You would wish someone who enters your house to be respectful. Should not we all do the same with the house of God?
