Unfortunately, there are not that many ‘good’ books on the subject of how Pastors and congregations may get things done in the church, to the glory of God.  So, when a good book comes along, it has worth for both leaders and followers of Christ to sit down and seriously read it.

Well-known author Thom S. Rainer has scored a solid hit with his work: “Who Moved My Pulpit?  Leading Change In The Church (2016, 143 pages, Doulos/B&H Publishing Group)”.  Rainer, author of “I Am A Church Member”, comes back to the table with a great means of bringing both church leadership and congregation members together with a solid, power-packed book of how Pastors can truly lead in the church, and other respective ministries.

The work contains 11 chapters, just right for the new Pastor coming into a church setting.  Whether the Pastor is in his first church, or he is a veteran of the ‘sawdust trail’, Rainer’s book provides some highs--and lows--to get across valued points of pastoral leadership.  Points, one might add, that are easy to achieve and won’t ruffle too many feathers.

Chapters include: “Stop…and Pray”, “Become a Voice and Vision for Hope”, and “When the Pulpit Gets Moved”.  There is even a “Change Readiness Inventory For Churches” section in the Appendix, designed for a Pastor to determine whether or not his church may be ready for a change, or, if he needs to do a few more things in his own life in order to get the congregation ready to make a difference for Jesus Christ in their city, town, or community.

“Who Moved My Pulpit?  Leading Change In The Church” is one of those valued reference books that will occupy a place in many a Pastor’s library.  The book is also course and workshop friendly, in case a Bible college or Seminary would like to invest in including the work as a part of a Pastor’s training arsenal.  The book is available on line from your favorite electronic book seller.
