While on a tour of Europe a tourist was told the castle they were in
is 600 years old, hasn't had a single stone replaced -- nothing
altered or replaced in all those years. The tourist remarked, "They
must have the same landlord that I do."

Life is so tough! It happens every year -- we have to learn to write
2003 on our checks, but it's hard to break old habits. Maybe you
even made some resolutions about breaking old habits. It's a tough
life -- always something to deal with. Why can't we just be able to
sleep in a hammock under a palm tree with a wispy ocean breeze
and let others worry about life's problems? You'd quickly get
bored, that's why. God made you to be creative and productive --
we need challenges. When we are no longer excited about finding
a new challenge, it's time to see a lawyer about making a last will
and testament and checking the Yellow Pages® for funeral homes.

Solomon had something interesting to say about all this in Prov.
6:10 (nlt), "A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding
of the hands to rest -- and poverty will pounce on you like a bandit;
scarcity will attack you like an armed robber." Golly, Solomon,
did you have to be so blunt -- we're sensitive, you know?

A new year is ahead of us. The best resolution we can make is to
determine that will we really make 2003 count for God by doing
our best to make it happen. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
