Three Final Observations

Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it. Mark 16:20 NIV

First, note that then the disciples went out and preached everywhere. Today we must go into the world and preach the Good News. No place is to be overlooked. All must hear the news about salvation through Jesus Christ. Secondly, we do not do this task on our own. Just as the Lord worked with the disciples in their endeavor to make all aware of Jesus Christ, so the Lord works with us as we spread His word to all the nations. Finally, notice that accompany the Word. As we share the Word of God we can be aware of signs which accompany the sharing of the Word. They accompany the Word, and not specifically us. They are with us because we share the Word. God’s Word is truly accompanied by signs, and those who share the Word are thus encompassed by these signs.
