HOW PROPHECIES ARE FULFILLED!
All of us get very excited when we receive a word, revelation or a prophecy from the Lord! But not many know or are READY to assume the responsibility for its fulfillment.
Prophecies are weapons or the sword of the Spirit to fight and contend with contrary forces to bring the promise into physical manifestation.

1Timothy 1:18.
Timothy, my son, here are my instructions for you, based on the prophetic words spoken about you earlier. May they inspire, and give you the confidence to fight well in the Lord's battles.

Read also Daniel 10:12-14.

God's Word or promise is settled in Heaven, but its required here on earth for our physical blessing and benefit and for that of the entire human race we're called to reach out to. Only prayer and faith releases it down. HOW IS YOUR PRAYER LIFE? The more we pray in line with God's Word, the more we merge in FAITH and OBEDIENCE with that Word of God that can never fail or fall to the ground, unless we faint.

Now, consider this. Can you identify the persistent struggle of PRAYER and FAITH just to bring an earlier prophecy into physical manifestation in this case?

1 Kings 18:41-46.
Then Elijah said to Ahab, "Go and enjoy a good meal! For I hear a mighty rainstorm coming!" So Ahab prepared a feast. But Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel and fell to the ground and prayed.
Then he said to his servant, "Go and look out toward the sea." The servant went and looked, but he returned to Elijah and said, "I didn't see anything." Seven times Elijah told him to go and look, and seven times he went.
Finally the seventh time, his servant told him, "I saw a little cloud about the size of a hand rising from the sea." Then Elijah shouted, "Hurry to Ahab and tell him, `Climb into your chariot and go back home. If you don't hurry, the rain will stop you!'"
And sure enough, the sky was soon black with clouds. A heavy wind brought a terrific rainstorm, and Ahab left quickly for Jezreel.
Now the LORD gave special strength to Elijah. He tucked his cloak into his belt and ran ahead of Ahab's chariot all the way to the entrance of Jezreel.

WHY SUCH STRUGGLE?
Two reasons.

1) The flesh is weak, unwilling and rebellious to God's plan.

Mark.14.38.
Keep awake and watch and pray [constantly], that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

2) The enemy is most prepared to fulfill

John 10:10.
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Prayer, using God's Word, the sword of the Holy Spirit, defeats the enemy and strengthens the flesh, making it willing to OBEY IN ORDER TO RECEIVE.
