STRANGE THANKSGIVING, NO?

Our HOLY days, once holy, are disappearing?

During Thanksgiving we stuff a turkey, then we stuff ourselves till the cheeks (and other things) bulge out. How does that give thanks? And to whom?

If you really want to thank God, to give something to our loving father, why not give Him something He can use? Like compliance with His will?  DO NOT LIE, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, LOVE YOUR FELLOW MAN LIKE YOURSELF, and so on?
Also how about plans to study the Bible regularly? It is Gods light upon our path.

Consider that every law God gives is never for the benefit of God. It is always for the benefit of man and the society of man. We have a colossal treasure, a happiness and, eventually, a life everlasting in our Heavenly Father, who loves us and ransoms us from uttermost destruction.

Why not give thanks (every day) directly to Him?

And you know, we can never thank our God enough. It’s impossible. To forgive us, God Himself had to bear and suffer the penalty of the sinner. It is really inconceivable the GREATNESS and GOODNESS of our infinitely most wonderful Lord. Salvation is free, just for believing who Jesus is, why He came and what He says.

Forget what Catholics say. To gain power they try to muscle in on a free salvation.

Nevertheless, if your sins remain on YOU, God says that the smoke of your torment shall ascend forever, and ever.  You think God is kidding?

 Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

At least, talk to the Lord. “Dearest Lord God, FORGIVE me my sins. Increase my love for You and my Obedience.” That will do it, if you mean it.
