I am made keenly aware of my frailty in life. But even more so, the frailty of my emotions as well.
The body is nothing without the soul. The shape of who I am as a man is intertwined with every waking and sleeping moment where the spirit and soul fight the flesh.
I am tempted as any man is tempted to flee, retreat, to bury oneself in the mire of humanity and the thoughtless ideas of my mind.
Yet I cannot deny that the Lord is calling me in some fashion to be something greater each day.
Though it seems very dark, these days, I still hold to hope as though it were a rock in the midst of a torrent river. Hope will prevail, I may not know how or when, but I see it dawning from within, and it comes from a timeless place; heaven perhaps, but most certainly from my Lord.
