11/2/19 Seventh Day Baptist Edgewater Pastor Neal “We Can Do All Things Through Jesus Christ”  I Corinthians 2:9-10

The different churches of Christ gather together to perform the mission of Christ. Each church congregation has its witness of God to give to the community. God’s love is the one constant thing that defines Him. He is present with each congregation and is there to help us see beyond ourselves to do service for the Glory of Christ. We have a unity in Christ and we should focus on those things that make us one.

We are supposed to let the Word of God change us into the image of Christ. We are to become stewards of the Word.  Once the Holy Spirit enters into us, we can become one with Him. We can be united with other people who have received the Word and the Spirit. Having received all this, we CANNOT be passive! There are things we must be doing for the Kingdom. Jesus Christ is calling us to give ourselves over to being a servant of God. We are to be about God’s business. We cannot just sit around and do nothing!

1)      We Must Build The Body Of Christ Up In Love:   We must pray for each other’s needs and help them. We are now members of the Kingdom of Light and we should be concerned for others. We should think about others getting saved by Jesus just like we did.

 2)      Always Be Dependent On God:   We should spend time with God in His Word and in daily prayers. We are to be dependent on God so we can be in Love and witness to others in Love. It’s not easy to really forgive or to walk together in Love. This is why we need to be dependent on God and fully obey Him. God wants our heart!

 3)      We Must Be A Witness To The World.  We must show the Love of God to sinners. Jesus told the disciples to witness to the world and we are to do the same thing. We are to be the Light of Jesus to the world. We must help devastated families. We must help people who have no hope and just have apathy and indifference. We must lift our vision higher and know that WE CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST THAT STRENGTHENS US!!
