Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, “Who do people say I am?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.” Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him. Mark 8:27-30 NIV

Jesus calls to each of us, asking “Who Do You Say I Am?” This question calls for more than just a verbal answer. If we truly believe Jesus Christ to be the Son of God, the Savior of mankind, then we must not just say so in word, but we must also say so in how we live our lives. Christ must truly be at the core of our existence. We need to read the Word of God daily. We need to spend time in prayer, not just asking Jesus to do things for us and others, but also praising Him for who He is. Our words and actions truly reflect that which we believe. Time spent with Jesus must be central to our lives. The world attempts to win us over to a life of enslavement to sin. But with Jesus Christ at the center of our life, and with the indwelling Holy Spirit guiding us, we are not enslaved to sin. Spending time with Christ is focusing on the eternal and not on the instant gratification provided by the world. Give Christ your all. He will provide for you abundantly.
