“You can’t be used."
"You’re not good enough, not smart enough, too flawed and broken for God to use.”
Ah, the words of our accuser ring loudly in our ears. Even our own hearts betray the Spirit within us. How often we forget that we are His workmanship, not our own. How easy it is to get wrapped up in our weaknesses, never realizing He is made strong in them.
Look at these failures: David was a lustful murderer, Gideon was reluctant, Jeremiah was too young, and Jonah was a runner. Matthew was a tax collector, Moses had a stutter, and Rahab was a prostitute. Saul was a persecutor, Thomas was a skeptic, and list goes on. Each one a sinner; all of them flawed. Yet all were used for God’s glory.
Their new identity was by all standards impossible. Yet, David became a great king in Jesus’s family line, Gideon became a valiant warrior, Jeremiah became a prophet, and Jonah became the missionary and evangelist he was called to be. Moses became the leader of the Israelites, Rahab is named in Jesus’s lineage, Saul became Paul, one of the most influential leaders of the Christian church, and Thomas believed and became a big-time preacher.
Truly, nothing is impossible with God.
“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV)
God can turn your incapable to capable, your failure to victory, and your flaws into testimony.
You can be used.
It IS possible!
Prayer: God help me to turn a deaf ear to the lies of the enemy and my own fearful heart. Use me for Your glory despite my shortcomings in whatever way You wish. In Jesus’s name, Amen
