For Sale

Consistency owns the universe
I love its tress and purse.
I change my eye to look at things
And find the Life the whole world sings.

I pander close on troubled thought
To scan this hour that time has wrought;
And marvel at the broad sunbeam:
My hands touch light, ten voices scream!

The sentient I beholds starflung
A billion swirls on nothing hung.
Within I blink and blank my mind
To capture these and all I find.

Consistency changes the next beyond:
A curse that man must die, pass on;
I'd love to stay and shift my eye
And forever ask the question: why.
