So....

Does your religion cause you to blindly follow their leaders and follow their rules?

I followed a strict religion and right away I should have woke up, but didn't. I think I needed to walk for a while so I could understand the depth of confusion it creates within a person.

Salvation is a personal decision we make, with God and the acceptance of Jesus Christ paying the price for our sins. It has nothing to do with anyone's "opinion" of my moment of accepting Jesus as My Lord and Savior.

However, when I was going to join this nameless church who claims they were started by Jesus in the New Testament, the workers told me that when I was saved before, "it didn't count". Now I look back and remember the red flags.

God talking to me....but I still joined. Then baptism, they said the same thing.

Today I will tell you it is by my life experience with religion that I understand the pain and struggle you might be in.

When I accepted their "theory" I set myself up with "trusting them" and not God. I pointed out things I read in the Bible and they said that I needed to follow them. They said that God appointed them.

The bottom line is that when we allow ourselves to be led by "humans and their ideas" we need to be careful.

The foundation of many religions is based on what people experienced with the Pharisees and Sadducees in Jesus days. Jesus knew this and didn't like it either. He warned them, too.

The conclusion:

Accept Jesus as Savior, Read your Bible, and God will talk to you. Keep reading and you will understand. But God's Word is the final Word.
