Prejudice, angry judgment, and self-righteousness is destroying our country.

We were not founded on those principles. In fact many formed their values and their beliefs thru a humbled understanding of their own lives. They learned that these terrible traits only make things worse.

The Bible is clear on this. God asks us to be different and to stand up for what is right.

We have to begin somewhere and if you think for one minute this is something "new" we are dealing with in our world, start reading the Bible.

Nothing is new under the sun.

It is by our ignorance that we continue to think we have to force people to do things or force our own way.

God is clear. Trust Him and pray about it. This is the answer. We can let the hate that engulfs our world stop with us. Stop hating and start understanding our brothers and sisters and their struggles.

I love this story:

Booker Taliaferro Washington (1856-1915), once a slave, became one of America's greatest reformers, educators and writers.

After having taught at Malden, West Virginia, and at the Hampton Institute, Booker T. Washington founded the famous Tuskegee Institute. He wrote "Up From Slavery", 1901; and "The Future of the American Negro", 1899.

Booker T. Washington declared:

"I shall allow no man to belittle my soul by making me hate him."

What a profound statement!!

Hate, prejudice, and wrong thinking destroys the one who allows it in their own heart.

Every day we are hated by someone and yet it doesn't have to stop us from loving and caring for others.

But how do we love? We love by understanding how much we are loved by God, without conditions. He doesn't love the things we do to hurt others and ourselves but He loves us so much!

I learned early on in life that prejudice is of the enemy and yet I didn't quite understand why until I started reading God's Word. The Old Testament is one of the most profound, eye opening accounts of the history of all of mankind.

We are all Children of God, and in God's eyes we are all the same, very very loved by Him. God created our differences but not so that we could destroy each other.

After I finished from Genesis to Revelations the first time, I remember all thru the journey, slowly becoming more quiet, more humbled and more in "AWE" of God and His Love for all of His creation.

All are created equal and the only thing divides us is our attitudes. How we treat others defines how much we know God, really know God.

Life on earth is about "understanding who we are and how we can become more like God in every way."

Don't waste your life. When we draw near to God, He changes our attitude and we begin to understand the principles He is trying to teach us on earth.

Having faith, trust, and knowing the power of the Word and it's ability to create is what we will need in our spiritual life with God. God is preparing us for an eternity to join with Him and work with Him and love Him.

What we do here affects us in many ways. But what I love is that when we have the courage to be as God asks and to have fellowship in trusting God for the path we walk, we become changed from within.

It no longer is that we have to control ourselves from having a bad attitude but now we don't have the desire to be like we used to be. It simply isn't in us anymore.

That is the miracle that happens when God walks with you. That is what happens when you read His Word daily and study it to understand it and what He is trying to say.

Trust God and do what's right and read His Word so He can change your hearts.
