Dear Lord,

I thank you that through Christ’s death and resurrection,

I have been saved to live a life of freedom,

So Lord, please help me to live out the freedom Christ has won for me each day,

Teach me to leave behind any feelings of guilt or regret from past,

Knowing that in Jesus I have been freely forgiven for all my sins,

Teach me to no longer strive after approval or the need to feel loved,

Knowing that in Jesus I am unconditionally loved by my heavenly Father,

Teach me to turn away from all evils that belong to my old nature,

Knowing that in Jesus I have died to my old self and can now put on my new self,

Which is characterised by holiness and righteous living,

Teach me to no longer live for my own selfish and evil desires,

Knowing that in Jesus I am no longer a slave to sin,

And that I have been called to a life of godliness,

Teach me to be willing to count my earthly treasures as loss for the sake of Christ,

Knowing that in him I can store up eternal treasures that will never fade,

And teach me to leave behind anything else that would hinder me,

As I continue to run the race of life set before me with one foot in front of the other,

And my eyes continually on Christ.
