The Delayed Answer Did Not Wear Away Their Faith

Better late than never, God’s favor will never end,

It will never be a waste – ‘the time in His presence we spent’,

Often He makes them whom He loves, to wait a little longer,

Yet His promises are true and His faithfulness ever stronger,

Abraham, Moses, Job and many other blessed ones,

When they had their patience tested in the furnace of life,

The delayed answer did not wear away their faith,

Rather they grew more nearer to God during the strife

God knows the best and He knows what He’s doing,

His plans are ever only for our welfare,

A blessed future He desires to give,

For His love is the best and He really doth care

The world may see ‘silence’ as a response,

Terming our prayers as ‘fruitless and a waste’,

Yet God is working as a response to our prayers,

His goodness through this we shall surely taste

Why are you disheartened O my soul?

Lose not your hope and trust in your King,

For His eyes in even on the little sparrow,

To you His blessedness He shall surely bring.
