Jesus said, (Matt. 7:24) “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”



An empty heart will hear The Word
It listens but does not do
The narrow path leads to life
Self-deception the way of a fool

Beware of dwelling in compromise
Touting Christ only in what you say
If you build your house on shifting sand
It will forever be washed away

It’s easy to build your house on sand
No need to dig or prepare
Quickly created by human hands
The approaching storm unaware

Whether you’ve built your house on rock or sand
To the eye, there is no proof
The heart of men indistinguishable
Only the storm reveals the truth

When the flood waters rise
No knowledge will suffice and all fleshly efforts fail
He who’s house is built on the rock
Will weather the strongest gale

Someday there’ll be a divine accounting
And before the King you will go
On that day, the foundation revealed
When the winds of judgement blow

The wise “dig deep”, with genuine care
Contrite and broken hearted
No light confession or quickie conversion
Amazed at what God has imparted

Obedience is the only validation
That you are part of the kingdom
Raising your hand or signing a card
Simply isn’t a good enough reason

The master of lies whispers into your ear
You are surely a believer
But you better go back and check your foundation
For he is the ultimate deceiver
