It was a hundred degrees the other day. A hundred degrees gets a person’s attention, like a pitcher who throws a hundred mile per hour fast ball.

Just a hundred degrees isn’t so bad in itself, but it’s the humidity that makes it oppressive.

Just a hundred miles an hour isn’t so bad in itself, but it’s the movement or spin on the ball that makes it impossible to hit.
