There were worldly dazzle’s
calling for converts
so I worshiped.

There were glittering pearls
to be found
so I went searching.

There were friends
offering lovely apples
so I ate and they turned rotten.

I am not a prophet
I do not have angel wings
but this I know.

I was lost in a darkness
of my own dreams
till Jesus woke me.

Now I worship my Father
my God
my Creator.

And though I'm neither
the eagle
nor the lion.

I am evolving in my walk
one day at a time
through the grace of Jesus Christ—My Saviour.
