No Condemnation

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:1-2 NIV)

Sometimes we just get busy.  Life around us is complicated.  We may not have time to do the things we want or need to.  Either way, we can miss a devotional time with God, and that’s okay.

God knows we have a lot going on and He won’t get mad at us for not spending time with Him.  The only one that truly benefits from spending time with God is us.  So when we can’t seem to squeeze in that time, we should not let condemnation creep in and tell us that God is upset with us.

Instead of condemnation, we should be feeing hungry for Him.  We should be feeling something in our spirits letting us know we’re the ones who missed out.  God isn’t condemning us, the devil is.  The enemy always tries to lie to us to make us believe we’re in trouble and not worthy of getting back to spending time with God on a one-on-one basis.  Obviously it is because he knows what a powerful thing it is to be in the presence of God.

Instead of beating ourselves up, we should simply resolve to do better.  We are not out of God’s graces.  We can simply start from where we are and continue our journey with Him from that point.  Then, we will have that wonderful experience of special time with God again.  Don’t give up on God because He will never give up on you.
