Return of the Prophet Leaving          

You have taken to the illogical and the perverse.

You have charged the wicked to have authority over you.

                                                You have denied sacred Truth.

                Therefore,

let no one take grievance or march in protest for Justice.

                It alone suffers for its own namesake

                                                and lack of carnal meaning.

                Yea, let corruption have its way,

                                                like the swept faith

                                that has garnered your selection.

Just as you did not hear the cries of the Lord

                                calling forth your repentance –

                so the Lord will not heed your cries

                                                and your weeping,

                                                                your wailing

                                                and gnashing of teeth

                come the culling forth

                                and the scorched parsing of the earth

                                                in self’s own end times.

Spoiled                

Nothing of any promise is called to order.

It is             as the worship of bulls …      and bears

                                                in the high places;

as the setting of wreaths, and the selling of stock

                                                in the fallen glen:

                                what faith be found in New Israel.

I am wanted in the house of your prayer

                                                … dead or alive;

                hallowed in the precincts of the churchyard

                                                … for entombment:

                                what message be bound in pagan me.

Prayer Sail                    

Saying, “The Lord is merciful, the Lord is forgiving”,

therefore His love shall not forever be removed from me.

Though I have angered Him, and I have cursed Him,

and I have struck with despicable force across His wake,

and performed all manners of sin before His loving eyes;

                though I have done all this lasting evil …

all this has been like a balmy silk cloth over His skin,

a varnishing of His visage, and a waxing of His mainmast.

For He has turned the face of His sails to catch the blows,

and the headwinds of eternal change toward me at last,

until such a time that I shall learn to rub His cheek rightly

                and lightly kiss the bow of a stricken God.
