12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now

the kingdom of heaven suffers violence,

and the violent take it by force.

PROLOGUE

Corpses were scattered on the dusty streets.

“I want more.” A drunken woman moaned.

“No… No… Don’t touch me,” one young girl laid helplessly on the floor, half drunk, and half naked, with skirts round her waist, exposed to the sight of three laughing men. They laughed, watched and touched her, toyed around with her like a ragged doll. They stood outside a very loud and noisy bar, with the signboard glittering, “Door to Heaven”.

Through the door, we heard music blasting, the dance floor were swarmed with people, dancing mesmerizing, as if they were high on drugs or intoxicated. They were shouting hilariously, “YES! PRAISE YOU!”

The crowd sang the chorus, “Open Heaven’s door. Open Heaven’s door. Yes, we are here. You are her. Open Heaven’s door.” There was a terrific live band playing, the lead singer sang, “Heaven is here.”

A fog swept past as if someone just put buckets of dry ice near the stage. The people could hardly see each other. They sang, they danced, they hugged, they cheered, but they barely knew each other.

“We want you. We want you. We want you. Yes, we want you.” The cheer continued and the music went on.

On the back exits, we saw intoxicated corpses being carried out of the bar by gangs of thieves.

No one saw them.

No one cared.

Everyone was mesmerized by the music, lifting the height of release of their emotions, seeking solace in the bar.

At the back exits, corpses were dumped onto carts, to be driven away. On the car, it wrote “Lucifer Logistics”.

“We want you. We want you. We want you.” The cheer continued in the bar. Sometimes there were sudden glares of the spotlights. “Awww…. Glorious light of all. He is here…” The eyes tried to see through the fog, there it was – they saw, “an angel of light”. The spot lights shone so brightly at the figure, we could only saw the light, the figure seemed dark and blurred, but the people shouted, “Yes, you are here!”

The fog thickened with a special incense. The incense heightened the people’s emotions. “We want more. We want more.”

We had to go, the incense was too much for anyone to bear.

The young girl at the door was still being raped, molested, plundered, abused in the most humiliating manner, in front of “Door to Heaven” bar.

We heard a loud thud and we turned around. A few men just dumped a well-plundered corpse into the huge garbage bin behind us. We could only see the bare legs of the girl. The men laughed at each other, looking at their mobile phones, sharing the photos they took of their plunder, posting them on the “SDW” – Sneaky Dark Web. And they planned on the corpses they wanted to feast next.

There was no lack in supply of corpses on the streets.

The streets were dusty, the grounds looked dusty gold, the street is named “street of gold”.

We looked at the ground, frowned and sighed, “yes, painted gold.”

We continued to walk. Both sides of the streets were lined with bars and lounges of large variety.

Shop signs of all types filled the streets.

“FREEDOM”

“YOU ARE FREE”

“UNCONDITIONAL LOVE”

“HOPE IS HERE”

“BLESSED HAVEN”

“GET ME HIGH”

“TROUBLES-FREE”

The signboards went on, speaking out loud its messages through all forms of tantalizing designs, drawing people into the bars.

CALLED AND ANOINTED

Luke 4:18-20 (NKJV)

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me [
a]to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are [
b]oppressed;

“Mom, look at that bright twinkling star in the sky!” A girl shouted in excitement, calling out to her mother.

“Mary, do you remember the story I told you before? At almost all times throughout history, God loves us so much that He specially called and chose His messengers, sent them to various corners of the world, pronouncing His call for the return of His people, and protecting us from harm. Some people say each star in the sky represents every messenger of God out there in this world, watching over us,” Mom gently stood behind Mary and explained, while caressing her soft baby hair.

“Mom, who do you think that big blue star represent? Will I get to meet one of them one day?” Mary pointed at one star in one darker region of the sky where thick stormy clouds inched towards it.

“Dear God, I wish I will meet him one day.” Mary prayed in her childlike innocence.

CHAPTER ONE

Stench of decayed flesh filled the air.

Staggering through the poisonous fog, he tried to find a way out of the place.

He heard screams of pain and people moaning, “Help me! Help me!”

Suddenly he felt cold clammy hands reaching out to touch him. “Join me! Come, join me!”

He ran as fast as he could.

***

He was awaken by the barking of the dogs. He overslept.

He quickly washed and cleaned himself, carried the ladder on his back, and set off to his secret prayer tower for his daily quiet time with his Master.

Master: John

Man: Here I am.

John ran away from the enticing seductive life and success of the city, gave up everything of his life and past, to find solace in the heart of the thick and dense tropical jungle. He set himself lost to all man out there, only to be found with his Master.

His hands roughened and toughened by the training arm of wilderness. His heart polished and sealed by the commitment he made with his Master.

2 Samuel 22:35(NKJV)

35 He teaches my hands to make war,
So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

John, commissioned by his Master, God of Heaven and Earth, personally trained by His spirit, fought the fiercest battles of the realm, on his knees.

A man of God was birthed and grown, in brokenness and endowed with the power of the spirit of God.

Isaiah 61:1(NKJV)

 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to [
a]heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

Master: John

Man: Here I am

Master: Go

Some years ago, John ran away from the temptations and luxuries of the world, into the heart of the thick jungle. At this point, he leaves behind the richness of the jungle land he holds dominion over, into the world he is now an alien to.
