LOVE IS…
1 Corinthians 13:4-11

Love is patient, love is kind
Love is a legacy we can leave behind
Love does not envy, love does not boast
Love is us imitating the LORD God of hosts
Love is not rude or even self-seeking
Love is forgiving, love is not freaking
Love knows no anger nor record of wrong
Love faithfully forgives all the day long
Love envies not evil, but always tells truth
Living in love will bear us much fruit
Love protects, and love perseveres
Love forges a path to forget all our fears
Love always trusts, love never fails
Love delves us deep enough to always prevail
Love is the LORD dying on a cross
To seek and to save that which was lost
When I was a kid, I was selfish, not kind
Self-seeking for that which I could call mine
But when I became a believer, when I became a man
I let go of self to make a stand
For love to be the essence of me
And to impart love to others as God does so graciously
I also learned I cannot love everyone
Without God’s help through the Spirit of His Son
So, I set aside all my pride
To live and to love with the LORD as my Guide
Yes, love can be what you want it to be
But to me, love’s a sparrow sailing the winds oh so free…
