Listen to this, you’ll be amazed! I read a book that I thought I was reading for the first time. But then I found the same book on my bookshelf. I had read it 5 years ago.
Short memory?
Yes, but there’s more. As I looked inside I found that I had made the same notes in the margins on the same pages in the recent reading as I had made 5 years ago!
You’re so predictable.
But that’s a good thing isn’t it? To be consistent. I’ve been thinking……
Oh oh, that’s dangerous.
I mean the sun rises and sets every day, the moon comes out, we see the same seasons every year, the leaves fall and all at about the same time.
True, but even with the sun and moon there are eclipses once in a while,……….and seasons so brief they seem to be skipped.
But I’m regular in my church attendance too. And I come on Wednesday night, predictably, that’s more than I can say for some. At least I’m steady.
I know of someone who would laugh at any pride over that.
But why?
It’s more about what fellowship happens while you are there, and how you apply to daily life the message you hear. Have you heard of the ones who come faithfully on Christmas and Easter?
We call them the C and E club.
Yes, like the members of the Christmas and Easter club pulling rank over the mere Christmas club.
Ouch! You didn’t have to say that, you know.
