I had a dream one morning within the last week and I had to ponder and research it for a while. In the dream I was driving in my car around my spiritual landscape that I many times see and explore in my dreams. My car is sapphire blue and that color represents the throne room. A car can symbolize ministry.
Through the year and in many dreams I have gotten to know this landscape. It is a dreamer’s landscape. This is meaningful to me, but it can also represents how people get to know their spiritual landscape. Some know their neighborhood landmarks and their city’s architecture much better than their anointed spiritual sphere and atmosphere.
So, I braked my car near a hill. It reminds me a lot like this sledding hill that we used to slide down as kids. We called it ‘Killer Hill’ because it could be dangerous. I had a painful accident there once but I continued to slide down that hill with more caution.
I knew I had done a prophetic act on Killer Hill several years ago, but now it seems to make sense. It seems like the Lord told me to run up that hill and as I did I was dripping with sweat. I had bathed in a soap scented of Frankincense and Myrrh from Whole Food the night before. So, I started smelling what was coming out of me and it was actually very fragrant. You could say I was dripping with Myrrh. Myrrh represents death and frankincense represents deity.
I did make it all the way up Killer Hill but I had to walk as I got closer to the top. I realized at that time that it was a Song of Solomon moment. My adrenaline was sending out dopamine and other positive hormones. It was intoxicating and breath taking and seemed victorious.
But in my dream, the hill seemed to be difficult but not something I was unable to do. So I got out of my car so I could hike up that hill.
So, I walked up the terrain, and all was well until I got closer to the top. It became a mountain and not just a hill anymore. There was a moment when I looked in front of me and it was like I was on a narrow ledge. Then I looked back, and yes, it was a very steep and a long ways down. At that moment, I realized that I could not look back. Also, I could not even focus on what was before me. I had to look up and just trust that God would somehow get me up. I finally made it up to the very top. The sight was surprising.
That reminds me of yet another dream I had while doing the ministry of the Northland Prayer Wall many years ago. I had a dream where I was on a ledge that broke through and fell down. I thought I was a goner but the rubble landed on another ledge. On that lower ledge I found an opening or passage way into a cave. I walked in the dark through the cave passage way or tunnel that led to the top of the mountain. I believe the cave represents death and resurrection. It was about learning to see in the dark.
So, miraculously, I make it to the top of this mountain. As Caleb would say, “Give me my mountain.”
Like I said, I was surprised when I looked around in my latest dream. The mountain did not have much space. It had about somewhere around three feet of walking space. There was a long and steep drop on both sides (front and back) of the mountain. There was no going back. The mountain was narrow to either side of me.
After I had gazed a bit on this new perspective, I saw that a stairway had just miraculously been built and people were walking up the stairs to the top of the mountain.
The insight came to me that this was how forerunners see things. They make the way to which others get to easily climb. The others still have to climb though.
When I was on the ledge, I was reminded of Habakkuk where the scripture says: you steady my feet like a red dear to enable me to walk on my high places of difficulty and authority. The amplified says it best.
I had done an intense study on deer many years ago. The hind or red deer have hooves much like suction cups. When you watch a typical deer, they are graceful in movement. But I’ve seen photos of those red deer on these extremely narrow ledges. They just stand there all poised and peaceful. It’s crazy.
I also thought of Song of Solomon 8:19 where it essentially speaks about dancing on the mountain of spices. It is where the bride arrives at a point of being secure in her identity of being beautiful and acceptable and decides to fully partner with Jesus in His adventures.
I had done a study many years ago where God had me identify with the Shulimite in the Song of Songs. Many preachers and teachers believe that it is an allegory of our spiritual walk and development in intimacy and then passion with Christ. The spices represent the scent of the love-making that births ministry.
All of this comes at a time where I am working on the sketches and final drawing and painting that leads to a picture/greeting card of a deer with the words: You are deer to me. Yep, it’s a play on words. And the deer is walking on the ledge of a ragged and rocky terrain.
