Lord God,

You know how easily I get caught up in what people think about me,

And that I fear appearing foolish or worthless in the eyes of others,

You know how much I care more about human praise rather than your praise,

And how I would rather just follow the crowd,

I pray Lord that you would change my heart by your Spirit,

Liberate me from my slavery to other people’s opinions of me,

Please rid me of my fear of men and grow my fear of you,

And lead me to repent of focussing on only what the world values,

Rather than what is valuable to you,

Teach me that human praise is temporary and fading,

Please help me to not place my identity in what others think of me,

But remind me regularly through your Word that my identity is in Christ alone,

That I am a child of you,

And that your opinion of me is what truly matters,

I thank you that even if everybody else were to turn against me,

Your love for me would never change,

So by your grace, please help me to live out my identity in Christ,

So that my life would be pleasing to you.
