Those Who Cause Division

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. Romans 16:17-18 NIV

We as Christians must be observant and alert. There are many who cause division and work contrary to that which is required by the Lord. We are told to keep away from these people. Are we to just ignore these types of people? No. We should pray for them, that God will touch their hearts that they change their ways. We do not need to directly confront them though. We are sent to preach the message of the Good News. We do so that Christ might change the hearts of souls that are lost. It is not easy sometimes to know if people we approach are ignorant of the Lord, or are truly working in defiance to God and His kingdom. We pray for protection in such cases. Those who are defiant will need to give an accounting of their actions before the Lord. Share God’s Word. Do His will.
