I tossed you up in the air so high…
from the safety of the nest into the sky.
I broke my own wings so you could fly…
baby lovebird I had to say goodbye.
I loved you pure like a clear blue sky…
so sweet and caring I can’t help but cry.
Sometimes love poems don’t have to rhyme…
but this will flow right through your mind.
True love is deeper and true love is warmer than pleasure…
you lose what you have and pray it comes back to you better.
So just let the painful time pass by…
and if your love for me it doesn’t die…
I’ll find you in the night like a firefly…
but if you stay away I’ll learn to live with “why?”
