Walking with God
By Tricia Draper
Often people walk for exercise or to lose those unwanted pounds. Some walk out of necessity; walking the dog or getting to work. There are many people who run just to feel the wind in their hair. The main reason we use our feet is to get from one place to another. Most of us use our physical feet every day, but what about our Spiritual ones?
When we are walking with God, it is wonderful. God longs to be with each one of us. He created us to have a relationship with Him. We have a precious promise from God about His desire for us.
I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people. Leviticus 26:12 (NIV)
In our Spiritual walk, it doesn’t matter if we are moving forward, backward, or even running in circles. We may have just taken our first steps with God, or may have been walking with Him for many years.
When we feel we are not walking on a straight path with God that is okay. He promises to meet us where we are. When we realize we need a change in our relationship with God, we can always ask for a new beginning. We can choose to ask for a fresh start every day. He loves it when we come to Him with an open heart. The truth is He wants to have a relationship with us, walking through the ups and downs of our lives. We can choose today to make our relationship with God even stronger.
