‘They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.’ Jude 4 (NIV).
There is a distinct difference in future promises for those who know and profess Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and those who do not. For those who are wrapped in the love of Father God and who are kept and guarded by Jesus, God’s mercy, peace and love will continuously cascade over them throughout eternity.
However, that is not the case for those who have taken bold and brash liberties with God’s mercy and love, turning it upside down into what it is not. They say God is so liberal in His loving that His grace is a license to commit immoral practices and they deny Jesus as the Messiah. God is not forever tolerant towards those who confess such apostasy. Those who claim this cheap grace cannot experience His mercy and welcoming voice on that final day. Though they abuse God’s love and relish in their false perceptions of God’s truth, seeming to escape judgement now, Jude says that there is an eternal punishment of fire awaiting them (Jude 7).
As Jesus devoted followers, who hide themselves in the love God, let’s not be found compromising God’s standards or flaunting with His grace and love. Instead, let’s continue to diligently defend and contend for what know to be true about God our Father and Jesus His Saviour Son.
‘Father, forgive me for daring to compromise your truths and questioning your authority. Keep me pure Lord, and desiring to live truthfully before you. Amen.’
