Taking Pride

I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. Romans 11:13-14 NIV

We must be careful in taking pride. What is our purpose? Do we wish to boast about that which we have done? Or do we think about the outcome? Our pride should not be a boasting of ourselves, but we should boast of the glory which has been brought to God through the work we have done. Is that which we do truly to benefit others or is somehow meant to bring glory to ourselves? We have been chosen by God to share the message. It is an honor and a privilege which has been bestowed upon us. It is not of our own doing. Make sure that your pride is properly centered. No inflated heads allowed in doing God’s work. Take pride in being a vessel. Allow God to use you for His glory!
