He reached down the throat

Of his fish-shaped mailbox every day

(A bass shape perhaps)

As if he were pulling out the bent hooks

Of so many solicitations disguised

As salutations. Overwhelmed

He felt maligned and misaligned

And in need of still another session

With the Great Physician to restore

Proper spiritual alignment.

He was glad the Great Physician

Doubled also as the Great Chiropractor!

Often he left those sacred appointments

Grasping and gasping at the enormity

Of the dimensions of God's

Gentle-like lavish love

For him yes and for all.
