I was young and gullible.

Cousins aroused my fears with stories of a boogie man. He was lurking inside dark closets and under beds.

‘Who’s afraid of the Boogeyman?’

I was.

The devil plays on our fears.

The Father relieves them.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV).”

A sound mind is at rest.

I can rest in the knowledge of God’s protection. Fear not…

“Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10 NKJV).”

Secure, I will rest in His hand.

“And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one (John 10:28-30 NKJV).”

Who’s afraid of the Boogeyman?

Why should I fear?

“The Lord is on my side;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me (Psalm 118:6 NKJV)?”
