Are you there? Can you hear my voice when I seek you? In the dark on my knees and head bowed I place myself in humble supplication before you. Does it matter to you that I feel lost and alone? I feel and I fear and wonder how alike I am with the person next to me. Can you really see any value in me when I sin and fail with weaknesses?

I am here and have always been here. I am where you are going and where you have been and where you are now. I see far. I take joy in you in ways you can not understand even if I told you. It is because of your weaknesses that I can show you I am here, for in your inability is where I want to express myself. I hear you my son, I listen and know your needs. I have and will continue to provide for your needs for my works.

I felt so close to you today in worship service. The music lifted my spirit and I could feel the burdens of this life ease away. Thank you for being my God and being with me always.

I was pleased with your worship and bless you for it. But why did it stop when the music faded? Do you only worship me when the piano plays? Your burdens are only heavy when you carry them without me, so please do not only be close to me in church. I want to be close to you at work, and at home. I can not understand this scripture. What is it that you want me to learn here? I have struggled to understand this for days and I just don’t get it.

I want you to learn the same thing with this scripture that I do with all scripture. To know me better, to understand our relationship more and to apply this teaching to your life; this is the purpose of all scripture. Sometimes it is only in doing that you can gain wisdom so try using the scripture today and this will reveal my wisdom to you.

My mother is sick and the doctors said there is nothing they can do. I feel so sad to see her this way and to have such pain. Can you heal her? Can you make this suffering go away? I have worked so hard to be a good boy for you and promise to work harder if you will please answer this prayer.

Be careful what promises you make to me for I have been known to call people to account for things. I know of your mother and her situation. I knew of this before the world was born and I know of the days yet to come. Trust me. I know this is a difficult time for you and your faith may be tested. Trust me in all things my son. I can offer you my promise that all things will work out the way that I intend for them.

I trusted you and prayed but today I am going to my mother’s funeral. I do not understand how it could be your will to let her continue to suffer for six months. The daily pain and humiliation that this woman who loved you endured was beyond anything I could have imagined. How could you let this happen?
