I am trusting the Lord to keep you from believing false teachings. God will judge that person, whoever he is, who has been confusing you. Galatians 5:10. (NLT)

This verse underpins the importance of saying what the Word of God says, not taking away, adding or putting our own spin on it. I am amazed how flippant some people can be with what the Bible clearly says by prefixing their statements with “this is what I think”. I love that Paul said that his trust was in God to keep them from believing false teachings. God in His Wisdom did not leave anything up to my interpretation and by the guidance of the Precious Holy Spirit have kept me from believing false teachings.

Of course, we will not be able to know what the right teaching is if we never read the Bible ourselves; that would be like asking someone else to eat dinner for us and expecting not to be hungry – this is one area of life where we cannot live vicariously.
