I heard a funny story today.

I laughed and laughed and

Really wanted to share.

I knew that you would love it!

And then I realized that...

You were no longer there.

I went shopping for a special dress

Our Grandson's getting married.

I picked one out with special care

Couldn't wait to show it to you.

And then I realized that...

You were no longer there.

I'm losing myself in projects

I painted the den and changed the kitchen floor.

The man at Home Depot asked me

If the door I need is a solid or hollow-core

I must ask my husband I said...

But you were no longer there.

I've gotten rid of my big cook pots.

They're not needed while cooking just for one.

Frozen dinners are my usual fare.

Homemade dessert would be your desire

But it doesn't matter anymore...

For you are no longer there.

Seems this world is made of couples

They sit together in restaurants and church.

I've never noticed that so much before.

My supportive world was love and tender care.

Sometimes I feel so very alone...

For you are no longer there.
