Their 'good-night' hugs receive.
They...eyelids heavy...start their 'flight'...
To that land of...."Make Believe."

The place...where ALL boys go...EACH night,
Where ALL their dreams....come true!
With NO adults....to 'interfere'
With...."what you...OUGHTTA DO!"

Just THINK it...and it happens....THERE...
Just WISH it....it APPEARS!
Your pants and shirt....they NEVER match...
But in THAT land....who cares?

It's filled with bikes....and pony rides
And streams of ....LEMONADE!
With fields of fun-shaped toadstools,
And mounds of marmalade.

The lollipops...won't hurt your teeth,
Green apples?.....cause no pain.
The peanut butter cookie hills
Invite you back again!

Your kite will...ALWAYS ...catch a breeze,
And seem...to SOAR away....
To find a place...MORE pleasing still
Where clouds...and angels play!

Sleep well...my precious little...'gifts'...
As....I...YOUR world retrieve.
Recalling fondly....as a boy...
MY land...of...."Make Believe,"
