Because of  that Old Rugged Cross
Countless evil ones looked to sneer
Evil ones came to  mocked with jeer
Evil ones just stood by as if to cheer
His completed love became so clear
His free suffering to us was so dear
Many followers would come to hear
His Mother and brethren shed a tear
His Disciples would no longer would fear
His Apostles great and small did revere
The Lord to all the world is now premier
The skeptical crowd now want to rehear
The promised Comforter came to be near
God's free grace will no longer be unclear
By faith the human race will surely endear
The accepted Salvations plan is now secure
The meeting in the air will soon appear
Loved ones and friends in the sky will adhere
Because of that Old Rugged Cross

 ^" You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:6-8)

This "Old Rugged Cross"  is the focal point of the history of all mankind. While some despise the cross, countless others embrace its Christian purpose. And now, prophecy points toward the cross opening the door to one's heart.(Revelation 3:20)

You see, this demonstration of God's love  lies at  the very  core  of Christianity, which  is about the death of the innocent  Son  for His  undeserving people. (John 3:16-17)
