A legacy of blessedness

With people of my kind,

I tend to become blind

Blind in the pride of my soul

Trying to show off becomes my goal

With people who are great

And have gone before me

Whom I find in their books

And admire their beauty

I am surely humbled

Seeing how blessedly them God did use

How their lives have transformed

When above everything, His presence they chose

Time is swiftly passing by

And soon I too will be no more

This earthly abode I shall exit,

And enter eternity on the other shore

Yet if still those who remain

In this planet earth,

Will they remember me as a blessing?

Or curse my very birth?

Will anyone find strength,

By the things I have done?

Will the legacy that I leave on this earth,

Be that of a blessed one?

Will some young soul,

Someday read me through?

And tell me even when I am no more,

I want to become like you?
