How Will I Go?

We are all getting older and none of us can deny that! The old bones ache each morning, and if they don't tell us we are getting older, then our mirror certainly does! I prefer to do my morning ablutions without my glasses on....things don't look quite so bad then!!  But I have to face the fact that others will be wearing theirs,  and will be well able to see all the crinkles I've tried to overlook.

I heard some comments the other day about how we will leave this life...will we go kicking and screaming (figuratively) or will we go with expectation of what lies ahead? We have no need to dread what the future holds if we have made our peace with God.

It reminded me of our  runabout boat being slipped from the trailer into the tide...she slips off very easily, almost as if she can hardly wait. Once all are aboard, she is free to go where the skipper will take her....the horizon is the limit. This is how we should (and can) face the future with God as our Captain taking us out into the glorious unknown! What adventures await those who know the Skipper!

We are told that eye hasn't seen nor ear heard the wonderful things that God has prepared for those who love Him (1 Corinthians 2:9-10). His Spirit has revealed a little of what lies ahead, but we can only see things dimly now as though through a dark glass (1 Corinthians 13:12). How wonderful it will be to have our eyes opened to see what God has in store for His people!
