Sabbath 5/5/18 Seventh Day Baptist Edgewater Pastor Keith sermon “Just Right” Genesis 1:1-15
Back in 1968 astronauts took pictures of the planet Earth. Our world is remarkably designed for life. We are in the goldilocks region to our Sun. If we were any closer to the Sun, we would fry. If any farther, we would freeze. The planet is also tilted just right toward the Sun to have good weather. The Moon has very high and very low temperatures and life can’t exist on the Moon. But the Moon helps our ocean do the right thing concerning tides and fish life in the ocean. The planet Jupiter is 318 times larger than the Earth. It has a greater magnetic gravity field that sucks large objects away from the Earth so they don’t hit our planet.
God created our planet to be nothing like any other planet. He created our planet just right. Scientists believe otherwise with their theory of evolution that dismisses God. We know God created ALL things. In the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth. Some atheists even believe God created the Earth. The world is so complicated that it had to be created by God and not the evolution-big bang theory. Science can drive people to the conclusion that only God could have created our complicated Universe.
It is impossible to please God without Faith. We must believe that God created ALL things and have Faith in God. The Heavens show the glory of God and His handiwork. You just have to look up into the Heavens and see that there IS a God. God loved us so much that He made a planet that was just right for our needs. We are so valuable to God and He made a planet just for us.
In the Word God repeatedly tells us that we are important to Him. In Psalms it says our help comes from the Lord who made Heaven and Earth. God loves us and put everything under our feet…all animal and fish. God cares for us and wants to put all creation under our feet. God made us just a little lower than the heavenly beings. He made us to be unique and God loves us very much. He made a planet just for us. We are His chief concern. This is why God sent His son Jesus to die for us so we could be saved from our sins.
Jesus died on the cross after hanging for six hours and after first being beaten. Jesus and God paid a terrible price so our world would be changed. He wanted us to have salvation. He wanted us redeemed and to turn back to Him. Once we do this, then God can shower us with His blessings again. We need to thank God for sending His son Jesus to take our place. We thank Him for rolling up His sleeves and working to save his children that He made the Earth for. Thank you Lord God Almighty.
