Is The Bible Completely Accurate?

Is the Bible without error? How can we know that the complete Bible is the complete truth? Or what applies and what doesn't. Scripture proclaims inspiration from God, yet the Bible is authored by man. And as humans, we all make mistakes. Could it be possible that man got it wrong? That wrong being now what we believe? They are only human. That begs the question, if they got any part of it wrong, which part? And if some of it’s wrong, how can any of it be trusted?

Allow me to set your mind at ease. You’re not about to read a history lesson on how each of the sixty-six books became recognized as the bible. Although, I do believe that would make for an interesting read. Additionally, you won’t learn about the individuals behind the pages. Not their character? Or their qualifications? Not even their names? 

I also won’t be providing any cross-reference information comparing how each author in one accord with the Holy Spirit communicated messages of redemption throughout their writings.

I apologize in advance for your disappointment. 

But if you are a Christian, you will learn why you should believe the bible to be infallible, perfect, complete, and without error from beginning to end. You’ll learn why you can be confident believing the bible to be God’s word despite the unbelief, misunderstandings, debates, and attacks from the world, 

Are you curious to find out how you’re going to learn of all this without studying history, comparing book writers, or examining cross-references? 

Well, the answer is in a name: Jesus. But what does Jesus have to do with the Bible being perfect? To that I say, everything. 

We see from these verses that Jesus IS the word of God. Was Jesus perfect, sinless, without fault or error, and complete? 

Then so is the bible. 

Some may be thinking: But the Bible is still written by man. And you can’t arrive to perfection from imperfection. 

But I disagree.

How?

Well, think about Jesus. He was conceived in the womb of an imperfect vessel (Mary) through the Holy Spirit. The dwelling of Jesus inside a sinful body did not taint His perfection. In this case, imperfection birthed perfection. Likewise, Jesus lived in a world full of sin, yet He remained without any.

So if Jesus is still perfect after being birthed from an imperfect vessel, after living and dying in an imperfect world, then why is it so hard to believe the bible is still perfect after the Holy Spirit (perfect) moved in the hearts of men (imperfect) to bring about His perfect words.

Words that represent Jesus himself. Denying the word of God is equivalent to denying Jesus because those very words are all about Him. Actually, according to John 1, they are Him. 

When we believe in Jesus, we’re believing the Word of God. When we agree with the skeptics, refuse the truth of God’s Word, and sit on the side of those who attack and search for contradictions, we rise against the true lover of our souls.

Is the bible hard to understand? For your natural mind, yes. But for your spirit, no. The Bible is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16-17) which implies that it’s a Spirit book because God is Spirit (John 4:24) written by physical man to the physical world. Nonetheless, you can’t use natural means to figure it out. All attempts to understand the Bible through human reasoning is unfruitful. Every time the Bible is studied without the author’s help, the results are: “The Bible has contradictions.” “It’s a myth.” “It’s not relevant.” “This part’s good, but these don’t apply,” and the like. (1 Corinthians 2:14). 

Why else do you suppose there’s so much debate about God’s book among the body? Because we’re trying to understand God from our own eyes. We're trying to observe perfection our way. But the Lord reminds us, our ways are what got us where we are. To know His ways, we must abandon our own. We must view Him from the lens He provides; His Spirit. 

Are you still a bit confused about the bible? Probably. Do you feel as though you learned a great deal about the Bible after this reading? Probably not. But beyond anything else, can you trust every word? Absolutely!

And if you’re willing to trust, He’s more than willing to reveal.
