1 Corinthians 6:12 should be applied to you as an "individual Christian" and not just in general. Which means your fellow believer may be permitted to do some things (which aren't wrong or against God) but you aren't. This may be as a result of the expectations God has from you etc.
Judges 13:4-6
His hair was not to be cut. That was the instruction for Sampson. Your fellow believer may be allowed to keep beards buy you aren't.
For instance, your fellow believer may be allowed to wear a pink top but you aren't. It isn't wrong to wear it but for you it isn't "permissible", " edifying" or "expedient" even though it is lawful.
This may be His own instruction to you. It may be required for the fulfilment of your mission or others linked to you. Or maybe it is just His instruction and He doesn't tell you why.
Just comply.
